About D-Mec Services
D-Mec Services is a family-run air conditioning company based in Leighton Buzzard, serving Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. It designs, installs, maintains and repairs systems for homes and businesses, with free on-site consultations.
Brothers John and Paul Dowdeswell own and operate the business, each bringing over 30 years of refrigeration and air conditioning experience. Installation, service and maintenance are handled by directly employed engineers who receive regular training.
Weekday office hours are 08:00–17:00. Outside these hours, an answering service can direct urgent enquiries to a standby engineer.
Free on-site consultations are available. For Mitsubishi Electric installations, the team assesses space, usage and budget before recommending a system. Panasonic installations include design, equipment selection, installation, testing and handover.
The company offers preventative maintenance agreements and after-sales support with manufacturer-backed warranties. Its maintenance programme includes coil cleaning, filter replacement, electrical connection inspections, leak and damage checks, and refrigerant charge checks. Planned maintenance customers are offered discounted replacement spare parts.
If a system cannot be repaired, the company offers a free site survey to discuss a replacement installation.
D-Mec states that it is a Daikin D1 approved installer, and its Panasonic page claims manufacturer accreditation. Its homepage describes the installation engineers as F-Gas certified.
