Who handles your information?

domestic-aircon.co.uk operates this directory and controls the personal information submitted through it. For questions or data requests, email hello@domestic-aircon.co.uk.

What we collect and why

If you submit a homeowner enquiry, we collect your name, email, postcode, optional phone number, property and room details, timing, chosen business, message and consent. You can also provide the type of work, budget, your relationship to the property and up to three project photos. Photos are resized and re-encoded to remove image metadata before private storage. Business applications include business name, website and the details you submit. We record the submission date and an enquiry reference. If you use the optional email prompt after a postcode search, we collect your email and postcode to contact you about finding an installer.

We use this information to handle your request, contact you about it and, when appropriate, arrange the introduction you requested. We rely on your consent for introductions and on our legitimate interests in responding to general requests, keeping records and protecting the service from abuse. We don’t use your enquiry as consent for unrelated marketing.

Who receives your details?

Submissions first enter Domestic Aircon’s private enquiry inbox. We may share relevant details with the business you selected to respond to your project. If you ask us to find an installer, we confirm the intended recipient with you before sharing your details. We may earn an agreed introduction fee from a business. We do not broadcast your details to the directory or sell them for unrelated marketing.

Vercel hosts the website and provides private storage. The storage location selected for enquiry records is London. The hosting provider may process technical and security data elsewhere under its applicable data-protection arrangements. Resend sends enquiry notifications to the operator. Cloudflare Turnstile checks public form submissions for bots and processes the technical information needed for those checks. These providers may process data outside the UK under their applicable data-protection arrangements. An installer receiving an enquiry becomes responsible for its own handling of that information.

Technical information, cookies & security

The hosting service processes connection information such as your IP address and browser details. We use the hosting provider’s approximate UK location to put nearby installers first; entering a postcode replaces this estimate. We do not store the location estimate. The enquiry service stores a one-way, secret-keyed identifier derived from your IP address for rate limiting, without storing the raw IP in enquiry records. Short-lived signed form tokens help prevent abuse and duplicate submissions.

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Search filters are included in the page URL so you can switch between list and map views. A preference cookie remembers that the optional email prompt has been shown, for up to 400 days. It contains only a yes/no flag. The owner’s password-protected administration area uses a necessary, secure session cookie. No login is needed to browse or enquire.

Postcode search and maps

Postcodes.io converts Great Britain postcodes into locations; OpenStreetMap provides Northern Ireland postcode lookup. We send the postcode through our server and cache postcode locations to speed up searches. OpenStreetMap supplies map tiles when you use the map page and receives the connection details needed to display them.

Postcode data: Postcodes.io licences. Contains Ordnance Survey, Royal Mail, National Statistics and NRS data © Crown copyright and database right 2025. Map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors.

How long we keep information

Enquiry records, project photos and notification records are automatically removed after 180 days. Photos can only be opened from the signed-in owner inbox. Abuse-prevention records are removed after 48 hours. The operator may need to retain separate business or accounting records where legally required; those are outside this website’s enquiry storage.

Your choices and rights

You can withdraw consent to an introduction before it takes place and ask for access, correction or deletion of your information. You may also have rights to restrict or object to processing or request a portable copy, depending on the circumstances. Contact us with your enquiry reference where possible. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully carried out.

If you have a concern about our handling of personal information, contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Using this directory

Domestic Aircon handles directory enquiries and introductions. Installation quotes and contracts are agreed with the installer.

Sponsored listings are advertisements and are labelled. Company names, logos and photographs remain the property of their owners. Submit correction or removal requests with enough information to identify the relevant material.
